Educator
Credenda Virtual High School was created to meet a specific need. It was not intended to replace schools, but to work collaboratively with them to meet student needs wherever class sizes were too small to justify offering a course or the course was best delivered by a subject-qualified teacher. By breaking the tyrannical bonds of geography, Credenda can create learning communities of students and teachers regardless of an individual's physical location. Our eStudent page offers valuable guides and resources and we also offer a concise brochure. For details, download our Implementation Planning Handbook.
eSite Teacher
A valuable part of our team, eSite Teachers not only maintain the technology but they also motivate students and help eTeachers communicate with parents. Our eSite Teacher Handbook has been updated for our Desire2Learn Learning Management System.
This following list links to specific information for three types of educators:
Some Credenda benefits are:
- Academic Excellence: Receive constructive and timely feedback to achieve superior results
- Live Instruction: Able to provide that personal attention
- Diverse Community: Bringing learners from all areas into one learning community
- Increased Flexibility: Choose to learn from anywhere online
- Competitive Prices: Because of partner funding our cost of $500 per course is on par with other online offerings
- Technological Learning: Develop 21st century technological literacy skills
Credenda also recognized that asynchronous online courses, when students work on their own time with delayed feedback, generally have very low success rates. Early asynchronous courses essentially were digitized text-heavy correspondence courses. Credenda developed a unique synchronous online method of delivery. As learning is primarily a social interaction and works best with immediate feedback, we have daily, hour long, real time classes for our high school courses in Elluminate Live! virtual classrooms. Our Desire2Learn Learning Management System (LMS) gives our students 24/7 access to course material, email, grades, drop boxes, calendar, etc. These screen grabs from the student page give you a visual of the Elluminate Live and the Desire2Learn interface:

Principal
When schools are looking for alternatives for their students, because they do not have the numbers of students to offer a course or the qualified teachers to teach the higher level courses , they turn to Credenda. Since 2005, Credenda has been delivering approved Saskatchewan curriculum through the internet to many hundreds of high school students. Our outstanding quality of teaching, unparalleled technological expertise, and a track record of ensuring student success, will add to your school's success.
Schools report they are able to:

- fill in the gaps by offering hard to timetable courses;
- outsource their eLearning needs, and minimize costs of delivery for themselves; and
- attract new students by providing unique educational opportunities.

Teacher
Are you an ideal eTeacher? An ideal eTeacher is an ideal teacher. They enjoy working with learners; they have comprehensive knowledge of their subject domain; they are enthusiastic and able to motivate learners to achieve curriculum outcomes; and they have a large repertoire of teaching skills that cover a wide range of learning styles. An ideal teacher has the courage, commitment, patience, confidence, sense of humour, and empathy needed to leave behind the familiar traditions of a walled bricks and mortar classroom and explore the unfamiliar leading-edge of a virtual bits and bytes classroom. They focus not on what has been done in the past but on what can be done in a digital learning environment.
An ideal eTeacher has sufficient technical skills to be an effective online teacher. They have an aptitude for working with computers and can rapidly gain fluency in new programs. They have a personal sense of competence and comfort in the environment. They have basic troubleshooting skills paired with the ability to recognize the need for and request technical support.
