Vince Hill, Director
Vince

In 2005, Vince was asked by former Grand Chief Gary Merasty of PAGC to start Credenda Virtual High School & College. He put together a team of staff with the challenge to have things up and running in six months. His First Nations background and administrative experience has been a considerable asset to heading up this school. Today, Credenda is growing and gaining great recognition across the province and nationally as one of the most technologically advanced online virtual schools delivering live classes to eStudents from all walks of life and backgrounds.
In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family, or read a good book. Vince also is very involved with Virtues Project International, an organization that promotes character education and development, in schools, work, and at home.

Lori Poitras, Principal— Southern Campus
Lori Poitras

Lori grew up in the farming community of Wolseley, Saskatchewan,  and is a band member of Carry the Kettle First Nation.  She holds a B.Ed., and M.Ed., from the University of Regina.  Lori has been in education for over 16 years with much of her career being dedicated to teaching and administration in the Provincial and First Nation education systems. She enjoys gardening, golf, and sewing.  She has a keen interest in cross-cultural and environmental education.

Tyrone MacPherson, Principal— Northern Campus
Tyrone MacPherson

Tyrone moved to Saskatchewan from Nova Scotia in the summer of 1997 when he accepted a teaching position in Fond du Lac. Other stops in Saskatchewan have included Carry the Kettle, Red Earth and the Prince Albert Grand Council. In the past 13 years, Tyrone has worked in schools as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, Vice-Principal and Principal. In his six years at PAGC, he served as a special education consultant, Associate Director and Director Education.
In July of 2009, Tyrone joined the team at Credenda as the Principal of the Northern Campus. He lives in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, with Vicki and their two boys, Jayden and Noah. Tyrone is particularly excited to be back working directly with youth and sharing all of the exciting opportunities available for students at Credenda.

Janice Hudon, Finance Manager
Janice

Janice joined Credenda team as Finance/Administrative Assistant in the fall of 2006, and has just recently been promoted to the Executive of the Board and Finance Manager of the school in September 2008. With training in Business Administration and Executive Secretarial, she is responsible for all the financial needs of the school.
After growing up in Prince Albert, she spends most of her spare time in the city enjoying activities and down time with her five children and granddaughter.

Bill Tracey, Instructional Consultant
Bill Tracey

Bill is our professional development consultant in the area of 21st Century Learning. He has a Masters of Education degree in Computer Education. He hails from Newfoundland and is married to Claire. Bill has traveled to Thailand, Korea, and Australia. He currently lives in northern Ontario. In his spare time, Bill enjoys playing guitar, reading, working out in the garden when back in Newfoundland and spending time with family and friends.

Chris MacAulay, IT Consultant
Chris

Chris started with Credenda in August of 2007 as an IT consultant with the New Paths Program.  Chris does help desk and trouble shooting for Credenda's eStudents and eTeachers.  Chris enjoys going out to the different communities to help maintain their school computer labs and networks.  He has also worked on various projects for Credenda, including an online learning game in association with the Office of the Treaty Commissioner and desktop publishing for publicity. 

Denise Gilmour, Receptionist-Data Entry Clerk
Denise

Denise joined Credenda in January of 2009 as the Receptionist/Data Entry Clerk. She is currently enrolled in Credenda's Office Administration class. Born and raised in Prince Albert, Denise spent most of her working life at Weyerheauser's Pulp and Paper Mill.  Because of the option of moving jobs within the mill, Denise had the opportunity to try many different job classifications.  The first 13 years at the mill were spent mostly in the clerical field working as receptionist, clerk typist/junior accountant and lastly crew scheduler/data collection clerk.  With the start up of a new product, Denise decided to try a totally different kind of work and moved to the machine floor running fork and clamp trucks. From there, she moved to the packaging lines ending at the top position in her area as a Cutsize sheeter operator. For the last few months until the mill's closure in 2006, Denise was training to be a water treatment plant operator.
Denise spends her non-working time raising her 14 year old son Cody. She also has an adult son Christopher who is 25. Her other hobbies include golfing, camping, fishing & hockey mom.

Lori Gay, Registrar
Lori

Originally from Nova Scotia, Lori began her career in Education in earnest after a cross-Canada road trip landed her and her husband, Geoff, in the northern community of Wollaston Lake.  Over the six years they spent there, Lori worked as a classroom teacher, Vice Principal and eventually became Principal of the local school.  Upon leaving the far north, Lori moved to Prince Albert and became a consultant with the Prince Albert Grand Council’s Education department before becoming Registrar of Credenda.  Lori hopes to be able to assist and support individuals, schools, and communities in all she endeavors - and looks forward to getting to meet you, either virtually or in person.

Steven Constant, IT
Steve

I am from the Fort-a-la-Corne area and I lived here all my life. I received a diploma in First Nations Inter-disciplinary Studies in 2000 from SIFC. I started working in the technology field early in 2000 with the Bernard Constant Community School computer lab.  In the summer of 2007, I started a part time job with PAGC and, in 2008, I started full time with Credenda. 
I prefer to spend my spare time with my wife and our children. We have three daughters and one son who live at home. My three teenage daughters keep me on my toes at all times and my son, who is our baby boy, keeps me busy with all his curiosity.

Steve Winkler, Guidance Counselor
Steve Winkler

Steve is from Detroit, Michigan but has spent most of his life in Canada. Steve has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters in Counseling from Grace College and Seminary , Indiana. Steve is also a Certified Human Resource Practitioner (CHRP) and a Certified Myers-Briggs Type Inventory Interpreter. Steve has worked in Counseling and Human Resources for the past 15 years. Steve is married to Beth and has 3 children, Maria, Troy and Rachel. He enjoys the outdoors and having fun times with his wonderful family.

eLearning Course Developers

Nancy Carswell
Nancy

Nancy considers her eLearning Course Developer position for math and science a dream job as it combines teaching and computers. In her first year of teaching, a colleague introduced her to the Apple IIe and she recognized how helpful computers were for teaching. After years of teaching in First Nations schools, Nancy went back to school herself at Woodland SIAST and earned her New Media Communications Certificate. She is a webmaster and has authored an interactive family history CD. When she returned to teaching, she found her New Media skills invaluable.
At home, Nancy and her husband enjoy supporting a family talent search. They encourage their three children, Alanna, Amber, and Andrew, in academic, athletic and artistic pursuits. Nancy is an avid reader and is committed to fitness.

Randy Robert
Randy

Randy is a course developer at Credenda Virtual High School. Before coming to Credenda, he has held the roles of teacher, principal and Instructional Technology Consultant and has worked for several school divisions in and around Prince Albert.
He acquired his knowledge of computer technology and how they may be used for education through education at the University of Saskatchewan, University of British Columbia and Athabasca University. Randy also credits opportunities to attend the International Congress of Technology and Education in Vancouver and his selection to be a Fellow of the Northern Telecom National Institute for giving him insights to visualize how technology in education can help more learners be successful. He has been an early adopter of computer technology and has been actively promoting its use in classrooms.
Randy now lives in a village east of Saskatoon and enjoys working from home as he is totally connected to the staff of Credenda Virtual High School through the Internet and the marvels of technology.

Tom German
Tom

Tom grew up in Elbow and Central Butte Saskatchewan. Receiving his Bachelors of Science and Education from the University of Saskatchewan and his Master of Education from the University of Oregon, he has taught for 30 years in various parts of the province. Tom is currently Coordinator of Schools and Learning with Prairie Spirit School Division, where he plays an administrative role with Credenda. His whole career has been growing in the areas of administration and technology, so Tom feels privileged to be a part of the development of Credenda Virtual School and looks forward to its growth and student success in the future.
Tom is proud to be married to Marilyn with three wonderful children and two fantastic grandchildren. He enjoys all kinds of sports and looks forward to playing sports with his grand kids since his own children have grown and can beat him in all sports they compete in.

eInstructors

Ashley Duiker
Ashley

Ashley grew up in the small village of Pierceland Saskatchewan, but currently lives in Lethbridge Alberta, a city two hours south of Calgary Alberta. She and her husband have lived there together for about four years. They have a dog that keeps Ashley company during the work day from her home.
Ashley has many years of experience working with children in a number of different capacities, along with a Bachelors Degree. She graduated from the University of Lethbridge along with spending a few years at Lakeland College and is very pleased to be in a partnership with them now through Credenda.
She is very excited about the opportunity to teach for the Educational Assistant and the ELCC Certificate and Diploma Program and recognizes the positive and important opportunities it offers to individuals who desire to work with children.

Courtney Nicolson
Courtney

Courtney Nicolson was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She attended the University of Regina where she completed her Education Degree with a focus on Early Childhood Education. Her involvement in education over the past five years has included teaching both elementary and high school, working as a Special Education and Early Childhood Consultant, and she is presently an eInstructor for Credenda’s Education Assistant Certificate program.
She spends her spare time being outdoors camping, fishing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, biking, snowshoeing, and swimming. Courtney also enjoys playing guitar, painting, crafting, photography, and spending time with her family and friends.

Deanne Riese
Deanne

Deanne Riese is the eTeacher for the Office Administration Certificate. After taking Microcomputer Management, a 1-year computer course at SIAST Kelsey Campus, Deanne worked for a year creating customized computer programs. When her husband was transferred to Prince Albert in January 2003, she started working as Instructor Aide for the Office Education and Business Computer Programmer programs at SIAST Woodland Campus. Deanne started her instructing career teaching non-credit computer night classes while working towards a Vocational Technical Education Certificate through the U of R. Once she received her certificate she was able to teach credit courses in various computer programs at SIAST and continued to do so for 7 years.
Deanne started with PAGC in March 2004 and enjoyed traveling to the schools to help the teachers learn various aspects of using computers as well as conducting staff training. She helped get Credenda up and running in 2005 by learning various programs and training and collaborating with Credenda staff. Her time was split among many duties including Registrar and Help Desk duties. She officially became the Registrar when Credenda became incorporated in September 2008. She is now giving up her Registrar/Help Desk duties to get back to what she enjoys most, teaching. She will be teaching Office Administration in the evenings starting February 2009.

Kasey Fulton
Kasey

Kasey Fulton is a college eInstructor. During the past several years she has worked within the field of Early Childhood in various capacities' including: ABA Behaviour Therapy and Autism, Intervention, and Daycare & Head Start. Kasey is presently an eInstructor for Credenda's Early Learning & Childcare Certificate and Diploma Program.
On her spare time she enjoys reading, movies, baking, walking her dog "Gus" and spending time with her son and husband.

Linda Aksomitis
Linda

Linda Aksomitis joined Credenda Virtual High School & College as the Coordinator and Instructor for the Library Training Certificate program in August 2007. She has a Master of Vocational/Technical Education from the U of R, and did her thesis work in online training. In addition to her masters degree, she also has a Computer Diploma and numerous library technical classes from SAIT and Red River College. Before teaching for Credenda, Linda taught thousands of online students through such non formal learning campuses as Barnes & Noble University. The course she designed and still teaches, Introduction to Internet Writing Markets is offered through Community Colleges around the world. Her textbook, Guide to Becoming a Library Technician, was published by ICDC Publishing in California. Linda has also published eighteen other books, including fiction and nonfiction for adults and children. Her freelance writing includes Web page development and travel writing. eTeachers
Angela Packet
Angela Packet

Angela Packet was born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick.  She obtained her BA in Math from Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec and her BEd in Math & English from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton,NB.  For the past seven years, she has taught in southern Saskatchewan and northern Alberta.  She met her husband, Shane, in Saskatchewan and never returned to the Maritimes!  They have been married for two years and , in July, moved back to Swift Current, SK onto an acreage.  This is Angela’s first full time year with Credenda and she is currently teaching senior Math.
Angela enjoys taking care of her cat, Sassy, and her dog, Roxy.  She also enjoys traveling, cooking, yoga, reading, gardening and scrapbooking.

Chris Friesen
Chris Friesen

I have been a teacher in rural Saskatchewan for 14 years. I enjoy teaching high school science, and I'm excited to be working with Credenda. In my spare time I enjoy being outside, and playing with my sons.

Darrel Harasymchuk
Darrel

I was born and raised in Saskatchewan.  After finishing high school, I took the Chemical Technician course at Kelsey Campus in Saskatoon.  I worked in the laboratory in Flin Flon, Manitoba for two years.  In the following years between trips to Europe, I graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences with a major in history, and later graduated from the College of Education.   Now, I live in London, Ontario with my wife.

Henry Jespersen
Henry Jespersen

Henry Jespersen was born and raised in the United States and South America. He attended University in California and Alaska, earning a B.A. in History with Minors in English, and Economics. Later he acquired an additional minor in Mathematics. After stints in the military and Peace Corps, he acquired his teaching credentials and has taught in Northern and Southern California, Alaska and in several First Nations Communities in Saskatchewan. He got his first computer, a Mac Classic, in 1985 and has been hooked ever since.
He currently lives in Archerwill, Saskatchewan with his wife Joan. In his spare time, runs a lot, coaches cross-country and track, reads anything he can get his hands on, gardens in the summer, and skis in the winter.

Kristine Dreaver-Charles
Kristine

Kristine is originally from Prince Albert. She is a band member of the Mistawasis First Nation. Since her graduation from the University of Saskatchewan, Kristine has been teaching in the north. She completed her first year of teaching in Wollaston Lake and had spent eight years teaching in Stanley Mission. Kristine has had the opportunity to teach a wide variety of subjects in the north. She has spent much of her time at Credenda teaching English Language Arts, Native Studies and Psychology. In 2009, Kristine will be working on a technology initiative with the Office of the Treaty Commissioner.
Kristine is married to Barney, who is from Stanley Mission. The couple has a dog named Charlie. She is also working towards completing a Masters degree through Wilkes University. Kristine enjoys traveling, watching movies and hosting exchange students.

Lana Elias
Lana

Lana was born and raised in Saskatchewan, and has taught in a wide variety of publicly- and privately-funded settings here, in Ontario, and in London England.  She holds undergraduate degrees in Education, (Majoring in Chemistry) Science (Majoring in Math), and has completed graduate study in Instructional Systems Technology.  She has taught many difference courses in science, math and information processing for the Prairie Spirit School Division over the past 8 years, and is currently teaching on-line full-time.  Thanks to her husband and two preschoolers, she does not currently have spare time to enjoy.  However, if she had any, she would paint, build furniture, play the trumpet, saxophone, and piano, ride motorcycles, and kayak.

Megaen Reader
Megaen

Megaen grew up on a farm south of Lafleche, Saskatchewan.  She attended the University of Saskatchewan where she completed an English degree and an Education degree.  After convocation Megaen moved north to the Clearwater River Dene Nation reserve where she taught for two years.  She taught grades 1 through 12 and a variety of subjects while she was there.  This is Megaen's second full time year with Credenda and she is currently teaching English and Humanities classes.
She enjoys spending time with her husband Derek and her dog Kevin.  Megaen enjoys reading, traveling, movies and jogging.  She is currently working towards her masters in Media Instruction through Wilkes University.

Nick Jordan
Nick

Nick was born in England, but raised in Saskatoon. He is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan's College of Education, with a double major in English and Social Studies. Nick taught in Wynyard, Radisson, and Delisle Composite. In his spare time, Nick coaches basketball at Acadia University and runs a website design company. Nick and his wife are currently living in Nova Scotia, for a year, while she completes her PhD in Clinical Psychology

Peggy Mattila
Peggy

Peggy grew up by Table Mountain Ski Hill.  She completed her schooling in the Battlefords and then completed her French Immersion B.Ed in Saskatoon and Trois Rivières, Québec.  She has taught every grade from Kindergarten to grade 12, beginning in Battleford, North Battleford, Clavet and now Martensville.  She has taught a wide variety of subjects. She also worked as a Recreational Therapist at the Battlefords Mental Health Center for a number of years. Peggy and her family moved to Saskatoon in 2005 - they love the city and the opportunities it has to offer, especially for their daughter.
Peggy loves spending family time at home and traveling with her husband, Sandeep and daughter, Brooklyn who is ten.  She loves the outdoors and reading, cooking is her passion and she plays basketball in a women's league.
